The Government of Kerala on May 19, 2025, issued a notification regarding the KSEB One-Time Settlement Scheme for Arrear Clearance for electricity bill arrears pending for over two years.
Under the scheme, the 18% interest on dues over 10 years old is fully waived. For arrears between 5–10 years, interest is reduced to 4%, and for arrears between 2–5 years, to 6%. Customers can opt to pay the interest in six monthly installments. A 5% rebate on the outstanding bill amount is offered to those who pay both principal and interest in a lump sum. The scheme also covers arrears under revenue recovery or court proceedings, and post rental dues of cable TV operators. Low tension consumers can apply at section offices and high tension consumers at the Special Officer Revenue Office.
